Is drop and go open at SARCAN?
Drop & Go is also available on Saturdays at the Martensville depot, from 9am to 5pm!
Is there a limit for drop and go SARCAN?
At current time, we are asking that any individual customer using Drop & Go, whether for personal use or through a group account, limit their returns to 15 items (bags/boxes) per visit. For more information, please see our Visiting SARCAN During COVID page.
What does SARC stand for in SARCAN?
Established in 1968, SARC (formally SASWAC or the Saskatchewan Association of Sheltered Workshops and Activity Centres) was formed by a group of managers from eight sheltered workshops within the province.
Does SARCAN have a limit?
SARCAN’s $75 per person/per week limit only applies to individual customer orders. Exemptions to this limit are available to bottle drives or any organization that is returning beverage containers from places like a school, library, sports complex, or special events like weddings, concerts, festivals, etc.
Can you take cardboard to SARCAN?
SARCAN accepts beverage containers, paint and electronics. Many other household items can also be recycled, and most Saskatchewan communities offer either curbside recycling or a town recycle centre where household materials such as paper (newspaper, cardboard, etc.), plastics (shampoo bottles, yogurt containers, etc.)

What happens at a SARC?
When you arrive for your appointment, you will speak to a Crisis Worker. They will take down your personal details, explain all of the options available to you and discuss what will happen next. A forensic medical examination will be carried out as sensitively as possible by a specialist doctor/nurse (employed by G4S).
When did recycling start in Saskatchewan?
The SARCAN Story SARC was established in 1968, but it didn’t establish its recycling division SARCAN until 20 years later in 1988, when the province first introduced aluminum cans in Saskatchewan.

How do you sort bottles for SARCAN?
Sort your containers by material type (aluminum cans in one bag, plastic containers in one bag, milk jugs in one bag, etc) to help us count containers as quickly as possible. Make sure you remove caps from all containers before coming in. Sort out any non-deposit materials and trash from your order before you visit.
