How is AlloDerm procured and processed? AlloDerm Regenerative Tissue Matrix is processed from donated human tissue that must pass the same stringent screening criteria as any other implantable tissue or organ (heart, lungs & kidneys, etc.).
How long does it take for AlloDerm graft to heal?
As the body’s natural processes take over, your own cells move into the AlloDerm. Over time, your cells transform the AlloDerm into your own healthy gum tissue. You should experience significant healing within the first week. Complete healing may take 2 to 6 months depending on the type of surgery.
What does AlloDerm look like?
The appearance of AlloDerm® can vary based on length of time postsurgery and incorporation into the host. AlloDerm® appears as an isodense to glandular tissue on a mammogram and isoechoic to glandular tissue on ultrasound imaging.
How is AlloDerm used?
AlloDerm tissue is sewn to the chest muscle to provide a hammock-like support for the implant. The AlloDerm tissue is essentially making the chest-muscle space larger, allowing a permanent full-sized breast implant to be inserted without having to use a tissue expander.

Matriderm (MedSkin Solution Dr. Suwelack AG, Billerbeck, Germany) is a highly porous membrane composed of three-dimensionally coupled collagen and elastin. The collagen of the matrix is obtained from the bovine dermis, and the elastin is obtained from the bovine nuchal ligament by hydrolysis.
